This invention relates to a sliding rod with integrated cleaning system, processing equipment comprising this rod, and a method of manufacturing this rod.
In particular, the invention relates to a sliding rod for a system of the type mentioned, provided with an integrated cleaning system, designed and implemented in particular to: - allow cleaning in places that can not reach conventional cleaning systems, and / or - any external cleaning systems (ie which are not integrated), which could be bulky or could complicate the realization of the processing equipment considerably, but which can also be used for any other equipment in which continuous cleaning of moving parts must be carried out.
The following description refers to attachment to a woodworking equipment, but is in no way limited to these particular uses.
As is known, woodworking plants currently comprise essentially a work surface on which the workpiece to be machined can be placed and fastened, as well as a gantry or trolley which is mobile in comparison to the work surface on which appropriate means for processing the wood are mounted.
The work surface consists of a plurality of rods, which are arranged parallel to each other, on which the pads moved coupled.
These pads may be slidably coupled to the rods both removable and non-removable.
These supports are movable along the rods manually or by appropriate means, for example by means of a mechanical automatic / motorized driving system (eg with belt, pulley, pinion and rack or similar). On each of these conditions can optionally attachment organs such as suction cups, clamps, clamping devices o. Ä. be mounted or they may themselves comprise one or more fastening members.
Thus, when a workpiece to be machined is placed on the work surface, the pads and their associated fasteners are accordingly displaced according to the size of the workpiece, and the workpiece is fixed to the rods to which it is applied by means of the fasteners. In this way, the workpiece can be processed by means of the tools mounted on the portal.
If these tools edit the workpiece to be machined from wood, it is known that a large amount of processing residues such as dust, chips, waste u. Ä. generated. Therefore, the rod needs to be cleaned frequently to avoid the machining debris from affecting the sliding of the pads along the rods.
To this end, the plants of the type described above are provided with external air blowers (that is, they are not integrated into the bar) which, by means of the generation of a corresponding jet of air, clean the surface of the bar when they are active.
These external fans may be disposed adjacent the rod and extend along the entire length thereof, or may be integrated in one or more pads coupled to the rod.
The technical problem of the system mentioned concerns the fact that the smallest machining residues such as the machining operations such as milling o. Ä. Dust tends to build between the overlay and the top surface of the bar where the overlay moves. Despite moving the pad and bringing the conventional cleaning systems into place, it is not always possible to efficiently remove these residues. The consequence of this is that the pads have to be removed regularly (if possible) from the rod and a manual cleaning must be performed.
This process is obviously expensive, both because it is done manually, and because the rod has to be disassembled to perform the cleaning and to avoid machine downtime.
In external cleaning systems equipped with air blowers adjacent to the bar, the largest processing residues, so-called wastes, could also get caught between the bar and the air blower.
These external air cleaning systems with built-in air blowers are extremely complex and not very modular, as the integration into the support involves several structural limitations.
Often, the pads with integrated air blowers can not be removed. In addition, in order to obtain efficient cleaning systems, multiple supports with integrated air blowers often need to be used for each rod, which duplicates the number of supply air ducts required and complicates the pneumatic project throughout the processing plant.
In view of the above, it is therefore the object of this invention to provide a slide bar, in particular for woodworking equipment, provided with an integrated cleaning system which can clean the bar and the supports associated therewith.
This invention therefore particularly relates to a slide rod for the production of work surfaces for the holder of workpieces to be machined from wood, fiberglass, metal, plastic u. With reference to Figure 1, a woodworking equipment is shown, which is identified by the reference numeral 1, in which the system according to the invention for cleaning the support rods is integrated.
The woodworking machine 1 generally comprises a work surface 2 comprising a frame 21 on which a plurality of slide bars 3 are mounted, arranged parallel to one another so that a surface is formed. These support rods 3 are mobile, so that the surface on which the workpiece to be machined is placed (not shown in the figure), can be controlled.
This processing plant 1 also comprises a portal 4, which is mobile to the work surface 2 and in particular to the frame 21 along the direction of the arrows A 'and A ".

Referring now to Figures 2 to 4, the slide bar 3 will be illustrated in more detail.

On this upper surface 31 of the slide bar 3 are arranged one or more support pads 5 which are slidably coupled to the first guide 32 so that the slide bar 3 moves on the upper surface 31 longitudinally in the directions indicated by the arrows B 'and B " ,
This slide bar 3 also includes attachment means 36 for attachment to the frame 21 of the processing system. 1

Along the top surface 31, a groove 35 is formed, which extends along the longitudinal side of the slide rod 3 over its entire length. In this longitudinal groove 35, a distribution member 6 is arranged, which is protruding in comparison to the top surface 31 of the slide rod 3.
This distribution member 6 is disposed in the groove 35 of the longitudinal portion of the slide rod 3, along which these support pads 5 can move.
This distribution member 6 has a plurality of nozzles or openings 61 along its entire length.
In the embodiment better illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6, the distribution member 6 comprises a support 62, particularly in this embodiment having a tubular shape arranged in the groove 35, and a manifold 63 on the lateral surface with which the nozzles or orifices 61 are provided. This distributor tube 63 is coupled longitudinally with the holder 62. The coupling can be done by gluing. Alternatively, this manifold 63 and the bracket 62 are made in one piece.
The dimensions of the bracket 62 and the manifold 63 are dimensioned so that the manifold 63 can protrude sufficiently in comparison with the top surface 31 of the slider rod 3, so that the nozzles 61 are allowed to be above the top surface 31 of the slider rod 3.
The operation of the above-described system for the cleaning of slide bars 3 takes place as follows:
If a workpiece to be machined must be positioned on the work surface 2, there is, as already mentioned, the possibility of arranging the position of the support supports 5 long ago of the slide rods 3 by means of the activation of the driving carriage 33.
After the positioning of the support pads 5, the workpiece to be machined can be fixed to the clamping members mounted on the support pads 5 (not shown in the figures). After the machining of the workpiece to be machined, compressed air is introduced into the manifold 63 in addition to the normal cleaning devices based on external air blower members which enable the sliding bars 3 and the holder pads 5 to be cleaned. Therefore, this compressed air flows out of the nozzles or openings 61, which are preferably aligned so that the air jet flowing out of them is directed substantially onto the upper-side surface 31 of the slide rod 3.
This allows the removal of machining residues that may accumulate between the top surface 31 of the slide bar 3 and the portions of the support pads 5 that face the top surface 31. In other words, cleaning takes place from the inside between the two organs.
This solution is particularly suitable for slide bars that can not be removed from the processing system 1.
This distribution member 6 can also be embodied in various alternative embodiments. In particular, the distribution member 6 can be made by means of the two tubes 62 and 63 and also with a single tube or with a part element. The distribution member 6 should be housed in a suitable groove 35 which is parallel to the first rail 32, with which the supports 5 are slidably engaged, formed, so that the distribution member 6 can distribute air on the upper side compared to the top surface 31 of the slide rod. 3
In a further embodiment, the holder 62 and the manifold 63 are longitudinally glued, so that they can be easily inserted into the groove 35.
An advantage of the sliding bar cleaning system according to the invention is that cleaning of the slide bars is made possible at locations which are not achieved by the conventional cleaning systems.
Another advantage of the sliding bar cleaning system according to the invention is that the interference between the cleaning system and any wastes is avoided since the system is integrated.
An advantage of the system according to the invention for cleaning slide rods is also that it is particularly inexpensive and easy to implement.
Another advantage of the system according to the invention is also that it allows optimal use of processing equipment with non-demountable sliding rods.
